Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz

Indigenous and Mexican farming communities have a long history of adapting and preserving their democratic social and economic institutions in New Mexico, despite losing control of their land to capitalist entrepreneurs and becoming part of a low-wage labor force. In the revised paperback, Dunbar-Ortiz applies the lessons of this history to recent conflicts in New Mexico over ownership and use of land for control of minerals, timber, and water.

Staci Haines

An encouraging, sex-positive guide for women survivors of sexual assault—heterosexual, bisexual, lesbian, coupled, and single . While most books on the topic broach sexuality only to reassure women that it is all right to say “no,” this book encourages women to learn how to say “yes” to their own desires and on their own terms.
