Modern Times is now investing 10% of the total sales on all events books to community organizations
Modern Times' ability to not only survie, but thrive, is directly related to the health of our community. For over twenty-five years that community has been centered in the Mission. It is no coincidence that as the face of the Mission changes, we find that keeping our doors open is increasingly difficult.

In order to insure a vibrant future that centers low-income people, working class Latino families, artists, and local business, Modern Times has committed to investing 10% of our event book sales to different community organizations working for social justice and community vitality in the Mission.

Every other month, Modern Times Bookstore will choose a community organization working towards social justice in San Francisco’s Mission District to both receive funds and to spotlight in our event calendar and press release. For the duration of March and April 2008, Modern Times will be collecting money to invest towards the activities of Buen Dia Family School.

Through a developmental, learn-by-doing approach, the curriculum encourages self-expression and active exploration. The school strives to provide opportunities for positive interactions, discovery and learning. To learn more about Buen Dia, click here.
