Modern Times Staffer Will be on Nightline - Thursday, Aug 2
That's right. The indomitable Annie Danger, part of the Greywater Guerrillas and the crew that created the bestselling Dam Nation: Dispatches from the Water Underground, will be on Nightline tomorrow night on ABC. The segment is expected to air shortly after 11:30.
Both a radical history of water and DIY guide to sustainable technologies, Dam Nation combines an analysis of water's history with the active fight for its future. Dam Nation investigates the political economy and environmental impact of water consumption. It also gives readers easy, cheap, and thought-provoking ways to join the 'water underground' themselves.
Apparently The New York Times caught wind of the Greywater Guerrillas and wrote an article on their work as well as their new book. And, well, you know how the media is. Once the Greywater Guerrillas were blessed by The NYT the rest of the media gaggle quickly followed. Now they're written up, interviewed and spotlighted.
Nightline filmed Annie Danger and the rest of the group conducting a grey water workshop in Maine, the results of which will be on tomorrow night. Sorry for the late notice, but it wasn't supposed to air until September. The segment will feature the Greywater Guerrillas as a group, but to see who Annie is, just keep an eye out for a large blonde weilding a concrete saw.
Yay Annie Danger! We are so excited for the success of the book...and it's message! Dam Nation actually had to go into reprint at the publisher (Soft Skull Press), but it's back in stock now. You can, of course, pick up a copy at Modern Times.
To read more about the group you can visit their site at greywaterguerrillas.com, which includes several media links at the bottom right of the page.
